In separate decrees on Saturday, Hamid Majidimehr, who heads the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization’s Quranic Affairs Center, appointed the members of the organizing committees.
Abbas Salimi was named the head of the policy-making council and Hojat-ol-Islam Gholam Reza Adel, Seyed Heydar Mortazavi Shahroudi, Abbas Lohrasbi, Mehdi Taheri Moqaddam, Hojat-ol-Islam Shozab Shiri, Seyed Mostafa Malihi, Hojat-ol-Islam Rafiei, and Mohammad Taqi Mirzajani were named as the chairmen of different committees.
Also, Hamid Reza Mostafid and Mahboubeh Kateb were appointed as the heads of the panels of judges in the men and women sections, respectively.
According to Majidimehr, the final stage will kick off on Thursday, February 15, on the eve of the birth anniversary of Imam Sajjad (AS) and the closing ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 21, during the Sha’abaniyah festivities.
In the men section, Hadi Esfidani will compete for Iran in the Quran recitation category and Omid Reza Rahimi while Mohammad Poursina will represent the country in memorization and Tareel.
Iran’s representatives in the women section are Roya Fazaeli in memorization of the entire Quran and Adeleh Sheikhi in Tarteel.

The International Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran is an annual event that attracts Quran reciters and memorizers from different parts of the world.
It aims to promote the Quranic culture and values, as well as to foster friendship and cooperation among Muslim countries.
The 40th edition of the contest consists of the following categories: Quran recitation (for men) and Quran memorization and Tateel recitation (for men and women).
The preliminary round of the competition began in late December, when a panel of judges evaluated the recorded performances of 138 participants from 64 countries.
